Mr. Dunn is Vice President & Global Advisor for Festo Corporation. He came to this position from a second term at MKS Instruments, from May 1993 through July 1998, as Vice President of Marketing. During 1992 and early 1993, he was an investor in and operated part-time as chief marketing officer for Plasmachem, while actively consulting to a number of equipment suppliers in the area of horizontal partnering and strategic technical alliances.
Previously with General Signal Thinfilm Company as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for 4 years, he was also a primary founder and spokesman for MESA/MESC - the definitive organization developing modular equipment interface standards. He has 25 years of technical marketing & Sales experience in the LCD and semiconductor component and equipment industries.
Previous experience includes Gemini (division of LAM) - Director of Product Marketing; 6 years with MKS Instruments - Vice President of Semiconductor Marketing; 4.5 years with Applied Materials - Marketing Manager for Plasma Etch Systems; 3 years with American Microsystems - Division Marketing Manager. Previously he also held senior technical marketing positions with Beckman Instruments and Data Technology.
Mr. Dunn obtained an AA degree in Electronic Technology from Modesto Junior college, a B.S. degree (business major/E.E. minor) from Fresno State University, and has nearly completed requirements for an M.B.A.
Currently he is a member of the Executive Committee of SMECS (Sales Marketing Executive Council of SEMI) and serves on the executive board of SEMI Modular Equipment Standards Committee. He received the 1990 Walter C. Benzing award for his involvement in the creation and presentation of this course.
